There are very few things better in life than city breaks. I love them. Whether you jump on a plane after work on Friday and head back late Sunday, or throw caution to the wind and extend it to include Thursday and Monday, a short break in a city you’ve never been to before is a great activity.

For a city break to really be considered a success, preparation is key. You don’t want to spend half your time wandering about with Yelp open trying to find where does an acceptable coffee or which museum is worth investing a couple of hours on. I have got this down to a fine art now. Thanks in equal parts to my back catalogue of Monocle (I’m not ashamed to admit that I have a spreadsheet noting which page of which issue recommends where to go in any city you care to mention), Caitlin’s ninja-like Googling skills, our vast collection of Wallpaper guides and a willingness to ask social media for recommendations, we will approach a city with an extensive to-do list and rough agenda for our time there. It’s more fun than it sounds.

If you’ve got any questions, you can either email them over to me here, or you can follow me on Twitter if you like a stream of consciousness about sandwiches. Finally, my Instagram, also sandwich heavy, can be found here.

Thanks for reading.
